How can visualizing code help understand JavaScript?

SeeSe is a tool for learning basic aspects of JavaScript computer programming with a focus on teaching the structural aspects of the code by making thinking-processes visible. Before designing anything, I conducted an extensive literature review on visualizations and maps. The biggest challenge was having a critical point of view on the many research papers reviewed in order to determine which could contribute to my efforts. As a result, I learned to develop a strong point of view based on a theoretical background that drove my design decisions through the project.
